Rudd Pond Campground
Taconic State Park, New York

• Dates: August 12 & 13, 2006.
• Vibe: Grassy sites at the foot of the Taconic Range; small pond for swimming and canoes/pedalboats; several sites with tent platforms.
• Weather:
• Saturday: Sunny and Warm.
• Sunday: Sunny and Warm.
• Pros: Relatively accessible to NYC; near Millerton & Copake, NY, Bash Bish Falls; clean.
• Cons: No division between sites. Not much to do here.
• Verdict: You could do worse, but no need to go back.

Not a bad site, but for the distance you travel you could go a few miles farther and be in the Taconic Range, instead of below it. Nice little pond; afternoon sun is strong, though. Moderately noisy. Limited hiking.
