Pete Levin recommended this campground to me. I'd first met Pete as a salesperson at Manny's Music and he always steered my right. When my wife and I went to check out a daycare for our six-mnth-old son, Pete happened to be walking out as we went in. He said the daycare was great and we would love it. Again, he was right! So when Pete recommended Little Pond, I had to listen!
Pete was right again!
Although it is a bit of a hike from New York City, and Route 17 West (future I-86) on a summer Friday evening can be a nightmare, we loved this campground! It's about 100 miles to Livingston Manor, a quiet town with a good outfitter, Morgan Outdoors, a Peck's supermarket, and a pizza/ice cream shop. From here it's about ten miles along Beaverkill Rd. to Lew Beach and the campground entrance. Set in a bowl surrounded by the Touchmenot Mountains, the sites are spread around a 13-acre pond. There's a guarded beach with great swimming, and you can rent a canoe or paddleboat here.
Highly recommended!
